I did something a little different for Top Ten Tuesday. I e-mailed a few friends and asked them what they think of when they hear the word HOME. So, here are the answers, in no particular order. What do you think about when you hear the word HOME? I’d love to hear from you. Don’t be shy. 🙂 And a big thank-you to everyone who responded to my email! 🙂
“Ah! There is nothing like staying at home, for real comfort.” Jane Austen
~Comfort . . .and coffee!
~Love, Family, Warmth, Safety & Security! When I’m gone, I can’t wait to get home! But the great homecoming is yet to come. Love.
~Memories and tons of laughter with family and friends.
~A warm fire in the winter and a refreshing breeze in the summer.
~I think of the good times when I was young, when my dad and I would take the snowmobile out for a ride and when we got home mom would have dinner ready. After dinner dad and I would play pool and my mom would make homemade cinnamon rolls or cookies and bring them down to us. Of course, I also think of when our son was young and he and his dad would take turns reading before bedtime. Family and home often mean the same thing.
~Warmth, family, fun, good food, fire in the fireplace, snuggling, relaxing, housework! My own special place, comfort.
~Comfortable, warm, safe, welcoming.
~A sanctuary, a place of safety. A haven.
~Supper dish! Where you feel the most connected with people.
“In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit hole and that means comfort.” The Hobbit, J.R.R. Tolkien
