Tuesday Teaser #TuesdayBookBlog

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by Jenn of Books and a Beat. I discovered Tuesday Teaser at http://www.liznnelloyd@wordpress.com

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read.
  • Open to a random page.
  • Share two or three *teaser* sentences from somewhere on that page.
  • Be careful not to include spoilers (make sure that what you share doesn’t give to much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!

Share the title and the author too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR lists if they like your teasers!

“Cavernous,” by Monica Mynk. “A Christian teen battles for her soul against an extremist leader -her father.” ~goodreads

“The all -seeing camera swings from one side of the cafeteria to the other, aiming at the entrance as I walk in. Its steady blinking light denotes the seconds as two officers move through the room pausing every few moments. Bright sunlight streams through the tall glass windows, a stark contrast to the thinking room’s utter darkness. I bathe in its warmth.”

I decided to write a review today since I just finished reading this book.

To be honest, I didn’t like the first half of the story. I was uncomfortable as I read it, but, you know, I don’t think the reader is suppose to like the first half of the story.

Callie is taken from her home, against her will, and forced to endure a horrible situation where her faith is seriously tested. Adrian Lamb, an extremist leader, is behind the abduction and he is a villain. We’re not suppose to like him ~nope, not at all. I didn’t really have a favorite character but the entire story was difficult. The characters were under duress. I didn’t trust the boyfriend and at the end of the book, I still didn’t trust him and I was shaking my head at him. ***stars.

I’d like to thank the author for e-mailing her book to me in exchange for an honest review.
