  • Grab your current read.
  • Open to a random page.
  • Share two or three *teaser* sentences from somewhere on that page.
  • Be careful not to include spoilers (make sure that what you share doesn’t give to much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!

Share the title and the author too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR lists if they like your teasers!

Without further ado ~

Jules Verne: Seven Novels Collecting "Five Weeks in a Balloon", "Around the World in Eighty Days", "A Journey to the Center of the Earth", "From the Earth to the Moon", "Round the Moon", "Twenty-Thousand Leagues Under the Sea" and "The Mysterious Island", this title offers a compilation of seven of Jules Verne's Voyages:

Five Weeks in a Balloon, by Jules Verne. This is the second book I’ve read by Jules Verne. I recently read, Around the World in Eighty Days. 🙂

“And there were present, also, those fearless travellers and explorers whose energetic temperaments had borne them through every quarter of the globe, many of them grown old and worn out in the service of science. All had, in some degree, physically or morally, undergone the sorest trials. They had escaped shipwrecks; conflagration; Indian tomahawks and war-clubs; the fagot and the stake; nay, even the cannibal maws of the South Sea Islanders.”

This photo of the balloon is ours. A year ago, I went up in this balloon. My husband is on the ground taking the photo. Although my adventure in traveling by balloon wasn’t quite what Jules Verne writes about, I still had a great experience! 🙂

“The man who was born to be hung will never be drowned!” ~Ferguson, Five Weeks in a Balloon
