Month: December 2016
Oh! My! Word!
Rick and I went out for dinner tonight. The gentleman who took our order looked like Aaron Rogers!!! Seriously!!! I suspect he knew I was going to say something because, like a “doink” all I could do, for several minutes, was stare at him!
Finally I said, “You look like Aaron Rogers.”
He said, “I get that a lot.”
Winter’s Chill
Good morning. I’m really an outdoorsy girl. Winter can be a challenge. I don’t like wind chill at all! When wind chill blows it’s frosty breath, I hide in our humble abode, sit next to the fire and savor a hot drink.
Well, yesterday I was wanting to go out in the great outdoors. So, Rick and I bundled up and off we went to some hiking trails in our area. It was a beautiful day! There wasn’t any wind at all! None! It was great. It was 32 degrees. It was a gorgeous day for a winter walk.
Rick took the photo. Yup. That’s right. That’s where we trekked!
The air was crisp, clean and refreshing. Brisk!
Do you enjoy winter walks? I’d like to hear from you. Blessings!

“Rose Galbraith,” by Grace Livingston Hill
I just finished reading this book and I liked it. Rose and her mother have been planning a trip to Scotland to visit relatives. Mother has been estranged from her family since she married and she feels it’s time for Rose to meet her relatives. Before they are able to journey across the ocean, Mother passes away, so Rose makes the journey alone.
“All about her were excited voices; confetti and paper ribbons flung over the rail, landing at the feet of friends, or about their necks; handkerchiefs waving; people crying; people laughing and contributing to the general symphony of sound. There were many smart sayings that were never heard above the noise of the boat as it thundered its final farewell to its native land.”
Enjoy!
A Winter Quote To Warm You On This Cold Day
“I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kissed them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt, and perhaps it says, Go to sleep darlings, ’til the summer comes again.” ~ Lewis Carroll
