Mimi Lee Gets A Clue by Jennifer J. Chow
A Sassy Cat Mystery
Release Date ~ March 10, 2020
A BIG thanks to Berkley Prime Crime! 🙂
“Mimi Lee hoped to give Los Angeles animal lovers something to talk about with her pet grooming shop, Hollywoof. She never imagined that the first cat she said hello to would talk back or be quite so, well, catty — especially about disastrous dates Mimi’s mother keeps setting up.”
“When Marshmallow exposes local breeder Russ Nolan for mistreating Chihuahuas, Mimi steals some of her cat’s attitude to tell Russ off. The next day the police show up at Hollywoof. Russ has been found dead, and Mimi’s shouting match with him has secured her top billing as the main suspect.”
“Hoping to clear her name and save the pups Russ left behind, Mimi enlists help from her dreamy lawyer neighbor Josh. But even with Josh on board, it’ll take Mimi and Marshmallow a lot of sleuthing and more than a little sass to get back to the pet-grooming life — and off the murder scene.” ~Berkley Prime Crime
Oh! My! Word!
As my neighbor was known to say, never in all my born days! I was reading this book at the bakery and laughing so hard, the random guy at the next table asked me, if I was ok! 🙂
Mimi is a refreshing new sleuth. She’s petite, cute, charming, fun, spunky, lovable, and determined to discover the identity of a killer. And then there’s Marshmallow! I love the cat’s name! Marshmallow is a big puff, of apparently, overweight fur. Marshmallow has plenty of catattitude! That cat can communicate with Mimi! I laughed a LOT as I read this mystery. It’s a good cozy and so much fun! I love Mimi’s family. What a hoot! They are supportive, frequently enjoy a family night together and who doesn’t love a group hug??? Her mother is a piece of work! She’s a matchmaker and hilarious! I’ve read stories where the matchmaker is annoying, really an antagonist, however, Mimi’s mom is great fun. I couldn’t wait to see who the next victim ah, er, date would be. 🙂 And! Of course, we have the good looking neighbor, Josh! He’s a lawyer. They had a chance meeting, which was funny I might add, but, that was soon corrected and they move on. I really enjoyed reading this fun mystery and plan to read these mysteries in the future. I didn’t solve this one. 5 ***** laugh out loud stars!
