Hello Peoples! It’s that time again. β° Time for Spell the Month In Books! Yay! March has very few letters! π Fewer letters are a good thing. It snowed here sometime during the night, but it doesn’t seem to bad, just a little. I would like the temperatures to stay above zero! Just check out Carla’s blog for Spell the Month In Books. Her link is below ~
Rise and Shine! It’s a new day. I invited our new neighbor over for hot tea and scones. We had a fun visit. After we finished chatting and eating and drinking, we walked to her house and she gave me the tour. They haven’t changed much in the house since they moved in, however, what they have done makes such a big difference. It was nice before and it’s nice after, just different. And! There home has such a comfortable atmosphere. It’s wonderful. I don’t really know what type of atmosphere is in our home. Maybe goofy??? haha! π
Last night Rick and I went for a walk. It was a beautiful night. π
Hello Peoples! Yesterday, February 25th, my blog was seven (7) years old! YAY! Beat the drum! Blow the trumpet! Sound the bells! Blow the kazoo!!! Thanks all for seven great years! And! More to come!
I also got my hair cut. It’s short. Above my shoulders. π
Millays Musings posted some great blogger questions today, I thought I would answer. Check out her blog. The link is below.
Has blogging affected your reading in a positive or negative way? If so, how?
I guess it depends on how one looks at it. I really don’t see how blogging has had a negative impact on my reading. I enjoy reading and I enjoy blogging. I would still blog if I didn’t read and I would still read if I didn’t blog. πππ Everything is good. I think I’ve answered the question??? π€¨
Do you think the pressures to produce content can result in a bad relationship with books?
Mmm. Interesting question. I don’t believe I feel pressured. If I’m reading a book I love, I read the book I love. *wink* At times I do feel tired, however, if that is the case, I enjoy the book and omit a review. I might make a brief comment on my blog I’m reading said book, but I don’t write a review.
How do you balance blogging and reading?
Whew. Another good question. I never really thought about it as balancing. I read in the mornings, to be sure. As I think on this question, blogging can be anytime for me, I’ve been known to blog in the night when I can’t sleep. I’ve blogged in the evenings, just whenever I feel the urge. *haha*π Right now, I’m enjoying a pancake whilst I blog. Yummy.
Do you think you would have started blogging if it weren’t for books or vise versa?
I would have blogged either way. I started blogging because I was in a book group and the group had a blog. When I started my own blog it was going to be a winter blog. I wanted to blog about my life and experiences during our long, cold winters. My blogging went from there.
Hello Peoples! Oh my word! I have been walking everyday! It has been so nice outside. The snow has been melting rapidly! Our backyard is almost completely free of snow. Of course, I know it will snow in March, but if the warmer temperatures continue, March snow won’t stick *haha* around for any length of time. β
Your favorites at the cottage in February~

Ramblings In the Cold ~ February 17, 2021
Oh My Word! ~ February 15, 2021
I’m trying to decide my favorite read in February??? I liked them all. π€¨ I read four books. Right now I’m reading, The Woman In White by Wilkie Collins. It’s good, but it’s a big book and the plot builds slowly. I do like it.
Hello Peoples! Yesterday we started and finished a project. We have a cabinet, it sits in our dining room, we bought it at an antique/collectible shop a few years ago. Well, it was old when we bought it. I don’t think it’s an antique though. It started to show it’s age, more than usual. *haha* It needed some tender refurbishment. We replaced the hinges on the door. The old hinges weren’t working properly. We strengthened the drawers and tightened the white knobs. Now, the cabinet is once again ~ extraordinary! π
Hello Peoples! I hope you had a good weekend. Our weekend was uneventful, quiet and restful. I had a nap Saturday and Sunday!
You might ask, Kathy, what are you reading??? Thank-you for asking. I’m reading, The Woman In White by Wilkie Collins. My copy is 564 pages, so, I will be here awhile. It’s not a quick read. I do like it, but patience is the word. Yes, patience. Keep reading.
Have you read The Woman In White? What are your thoughts?
Hello Peoples! Our temperatures are finally above zero! YAY! The high today is 28 degrees ~ above zero! If there isn’t any wind, I’ll go for a walk!
Yesterday, Tessa answered a question on her blog I thought I would answer too. You can find Tessa and learn more about her question and where she got said question at the link below! π
Is reading a fixed part of your morning or evening routine?
In the spring, summer and autumn I walk in the mornings and I always have a book to read, so, yes reading is part of my morning routine during the warmer days, especially autumn. I love walking in autumn. Before CO-VID I would walk to the bakery and read for a couple of hours and then walk home. The bakery is take-out only now because of CO-VID, so that temporarily ended that. The bakery is my favorite place, away from home, to read. There is also a coffee shop I walk to and sit and read for a couple of hours when the bakery is closed. Since CO-VID, said coffee shop closes earlier than usual, so I can’t read there into the afternoons now.
You’ve Got Mail (1998)
I don’t read in the evenings. And, when I am at home, in the winter, I don’t have a routine.

Hello Peoples! I finally watched Little Women (2019)! I know, I am the last person in the United States to watch this film, but I finally did it. I tried my best to go into this film with an open mind. I personally think this movie has been re-made to many times. When this film was released, my first thought was ~ what! again! I love the book. π€ I do. It’s one of my favorite classic reads. So, you might ask, what did you think of the movie? Thank-you for asking. π I haven’t decided if I liked it or not, so I will make a list.
~ I thought Marmee, Friedrich Bhaer and Beth were not included in the movie often enough. I really wanted to see more of these characers.
~ There was more emotion in this film.
~ Laurie and Amy never grew up.They were the same start to finish.
~ I loved the family time. Meals together at a big table etc.
~ I loved how they film Jo writing her book.
~ And the attic, so many memories, I loved the attic.
~ Jo and Teddy seemed all wrong.
My favorite film is Little Women (1994). Loved it!!!
Hello Peoples! Our internet has been down all day. It probably froze! It finally came back to life about an hour ago. Right now it’s -2 and it feels like -18! The good news ~ tomorrow it starts warming up! YAY! It’s suppose to be 30 degrees! Above zero!!! On Saturday! YAY! I’ll go for a walk. π
Sometime before this cold hit us, I found Don’t Go by Lisa Scottoline, at a little free library near our house. I decided to read it. I’ve never read a book by this author, this is the first. I’m reading it right now and it is good. It’s tragic and sad, but it’s good. To be brief, Dr. Mike Scanlon is an Army doctor working in Afghanistan, when he is told his wife passed away. He returns home to bury his wife and care for their daughter and discovers life at home has changed since he left.
Oh my word! I cleaned the little bedroom today. It looks amazing. That room tends to be a catch all. I decided to trudge in and go to work. It’s amazing what I accomplished in a short time.
I hope everyone had a nice Valentine’s Day. Stay warm and comfy.
