Illinois ~

Hello Peoples! I hope everyone is cheerful, warm and cozy this Tuesday morning.πŸ€— I’m enjoying a cuppa cinnamon tea. Delicious.

On our fun vacation, we drove a short distance into Illinois and visited a friend. I call her H. It was so good to see her. Right away, she told us about a new coffee shop in her small town, so, we decided to visit it.

The coffee shop is called, Brewed and it’s a great place. We went for hot drinks and food ~ breakfast and lunch. We talked and laughed and had a great time.

I had a veggie panini. So, yummy. Rick had a turkey, avocado thing. The following day we went for lunch and Rick and I shared a mac & cheese panini. It was great!

In the back, on the shelves they sell candy. I’m not much of a candy eater, so I didn’t purchase any.

H and I did some shopping. She drove us all over her corner of Illinois. We saw a whole lotta farm land and tiny towns. We also visited a mutual friend. I call her R. It was so good to see her. She is doing pretty good. She’s 90ish and looks great. She’s so young at heart. She collects hippopotamus’. So, Rick and I brought her a cuddly, soft hippo. She loved it!

We ate good food, visited with friends, watched fun movies and had a great time. H had never seen a Charlie Chan film, so, we watched Charlie Chan at the Opera (1936). We also watched The Thin Man (1934) movies and How To Marry A Millionaire (1953).

Much love ~

  1. Aww, it sounds like you really had a nice time. That’s kind of a neat coffee shop. Sort of a modern, hip vibe. I have a photographer friend who would love it.
