November ~

Hello Peoples! November charged by quickly! I think my head is spinning from the speed of the month and I feel a breeze as it zooms by, then screeching to a halt.๐Ÿ˜ฒ

Books I’ve Read In November ~

46223413

I was disappointed in The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise by Dan Gemeinhart. I liked Coyote and her dad, and they certainly had quite an adventure, the book had so much potential, but it fell short.

59013807. sy475

I highly recommend Lost In Darkness by Michelle Griep. I will be reading more of this author in the future.

55959422. sy475

Highly recommend The VanDerBeekers Make a Wish by Karina Yan Glaser! Great middle grade book!

50985006. sx318 sy475

The Solid Grounds Coffee Company by Carla Laureano is a little different from what I normally read. I did like it. The story starts in Colombia, South America. That was an interesting difference. I don’t drink coffee, but I learned a lot about the coffee business. I didn’t realize this was the third book in a series. I knew it was part of a series though. I plan to read the remaining two books in 2022.

The Seaside Cafe Mysteries by Bree Baker are fun mysteries. I recommend you read them in order. Enjoy!

I was certainly busy reading in November. It didn’t seem like it at all.๐Ÿ“š

November 8, 2021 ~ The VanDerBeekers Make a Wish by Karina Yan Glaser

November 14, 2021 ~ A “Pride and Prejudice” Book Tag

The Theft of the Royal Ruby (1991) is a fun Christmas mystery. I do believe it is aka The Adventure of the Christmas Pudding. A ruby is stolen from the Prince of Egypt. He’s a horrible young man. He hires Poirot to locate the ruby and the thief. Poor Poirot. He would like to spend Christmas alone with his comforts and chocolate. Sounds like a good Christmas to me.๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽ„ Well, that is not to be. He finds himself in the home of a fun, lovable family, and soon finds the missing ruby and the nefarious thief. What a pleasant, enjoyable Christmas. Highly recommend.

Much love ~

End of Year Book Tag ~

Hello Peoples! I found a fun tag at a book by the fire. Are you following this amazing blog??? Mmmm. Just click on the link below ~

She found the tag at Literary Weapon.

Here we go ~

~ Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?

I’m reading A Broth of Betrayal by Connie Archer. It’s a Soup Lover’s Mystery. I will probably finish it tomorrow.

I started reading, The Black Arrow by Robert Louis Stevenson and Tacos for Two by Betsy St. Amant. I don’t know why I didn’t finish them when I started reading them, but I plan to finish by the end of December.

~ Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?

No, not really. I don’t think so.

~ Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?

No, but there are a few mysteries that will be released next year I am eager to read.๐Ÿง

~ What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

The Wish Book Christmas by Lynn Austin

Woman in Shadow by Carrie Stuart Parks

A Fine Summer’s Day by Charles Todd

I probably won’t be able to read all three before the end of the year, but I will try.

~ Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favorite book of the year?

I don’t think so. I can’t think of any.

~ Have you already started making reading plans for 2022?

Yes, a few. I belong to the Classics Club and I plan to finish my reading list in 2022. I have 18 books to read. I believe I can do it.๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ“š In the past, I have always belonged to one of the cozy mystery groups. I am going to pass it up in 2022.

Are you planning to do this tag? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks!

Good morning!

Hello Peoples! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We had our first turkey disaster! I laughed so hard. It was hilarious. The turkey and stuffing were not harmed. All was well ~ after we cleaned up the mess.๐Ÿ˜„We had surprise visitors in the afternoon. We ate, laughed, watched football and had a fun time.

I did finish a cozy mystery Wednesday afternoon.

Partners In Lime by Bree Baker

Partners In Lime is a fun series to read. It’s set on the beach in Charm, North Caroline. Our female protagonist, Everly Swan, owns a business on the beach. She has quirky and lovable aunts. Everly and the detective are a couple ~ not married yet, AND, of course, there’s Lou and a cat who owns Everly. What more could a reader of cozies ask for??? Oh yes, there is a gossip blog! P.S. Everly talks to Lou!๐Ÿ˜‰

In this mystery, a surfer is killed! All the evidence seems to point to Matt, a friend of Everly’s. Mmmm. How rude!

I am sorry to say, I have heard this series is ending. However, I highly recommend all the books! Please, read them in order. Pleading the Fish, is next, to be released in April.

Have a blessed day!

Much love ~

Poirot ~

Hello Peoples! Rick found 8 Poirot mysteries on two discs! YAY! It’s series 5 ~ ACORN. I haven’t read any of these stories. All the mysteries are complicated. I briefly researched the mysteries on the internet and they appear to be short stories. We watched them over the weekend. As I watched each mystery, I solved two of the eight. Of course, Chief Inspector Japp (Phillip Jackson), Hastings (Hugh Frasier) and Miss Lemon (Pauline Moran) are all back.

Disc 1 ~

The Adventure of the Egyptian Tomb (1993)

The Underdog (1993)

Yellow Iris (1993)

The Case of the Missing Will (1993)

In The Case of the Missing Will, a man is dead the night before he is to change his will. It is soon discovered the will is missing. I liked this one. It was very puzzling.

Disc 2 ~

The Adventure of the Italian Nobleman (1993)

The Chocolate Box (1993)

In The Chocolate Box, Agatha Christie transports us, who are watching the film, to Brussels! I did solve this mystery. A man dies shortly after eating chocolate candy.

Dead Man’s Mirror (1993)

Jewel Robbery at the Grand Metropolitan (1993)

I highly recommend all the mysteries on both discs.

Have you seen any of these films? Did you solve them?

Enjoy!

Much love ~

Kathy

Hello Peoples!

I hope you are all well and enjoying the beginning of the weekend!

I found this great hot chocolate. And I do emphasize the HOT! ๐ŸŒถCALIENTE! I discovered said “RED ALERT” hot chocolate at the Spice and Tea Shop downtown. It’s a mixture of hot cocoa and Datil pepper! This will certainly warm you on a cold winter day.โ˜•โ›ธ๐ŸŒถ Rick won’t touch it, but I like it.

Do you like spicy drinks and food? Let me know in he comments below.

We Found One!

Hello Peoples! We found a typewriter! Let me start at the beginning. In our search for a typewriter, Rick suggested we visit a novelty/curiosity shop in the community, where we reside. I didn’t really want to go to said shop because it’s a little creepy. However, they do carry a plethora of unusual and difficult to find items. So, I agreed. After we entered the shop, Rick asked one of the employees if they had manual typewriters. The resounding answer, was not only yes, but they carried five manual typewriters! So, I selected one, tested it and it does work beautifully. It has new ribbon and a carrying case, so, we bought it

Isn’t she lovely! I need to use her frequently to become accustom to her. My fingers are use to a computer. BIG difference.

A married couple own the business. She told me, they sell quickly! I guess there is still a market for typewriters. Who knew???

Anyway, here she is!

Much love ~

Kathy

Typewriter ~

Hello Peoples! I’m looking for a typewriter. That’s right. I want to purchase a typewriter. The search is on. This is not an easy item to find. I don’t want to order one from the internet. I would like to find one locally, but it has been a challenge. Rick has been compiling a list of businesses in our area that sell unusual items. Good idea. Of course, I want the typewriter to work properly and finding ribbon for it might be a challenge, but I am determined. We’ve been thinking antique stores and second hand shops.

Jessica Fletcher has the idea.

Snoopy is a multi-talented character. Typing being just one of his many talents!

Mrs. Muir knows how to type on her vintage typewriter! Of course it wasn’t vintage at that time.

As you can see, many talented๐Ÿ˜‰ characters have used that almost obsolete typewriter.

We will keep looking.

Much love ~

A “Pride and Prejudice” Book Tag

Hello Peoples! I discovered another fun tag. Just click on the link below and you will find Sheri’s blog. Thanks Sheri. Take a gander.

While I am not really a fan of Pride and Prejudice, I do like Persuasion, Northanger Abbey and Sense and Sensibility. Colonel Brandon is my favorite Austen male character! I think Catherine from Northanger Abbey is my favorite female. She’s refreshing.

Pride and Prejudice (2005)
